Music For Horns is nearing completion...

It's been a little while since I've updated here, but it's because I've been incredibly busy!

Music For Horns is due for deployment in the next fortnight or so. The project has become a bit bigger than first anticipated and is currently sporting 19 modules, not including the standard ones that come with Drupal. Music For Horns is a bibliographical reference for music involving horns (for example, the French Horn). Different items are covered by different licenses and entries can have complimentary uploads, such as sample sheet msic and sample audio files. There is also a forum for discussion relating to the site and its contents, as well as a news section. Those are just the main functions of the site. I'll have more details in the Showcase section once the site has gone live.

According to Alexa, the domain's page rank has gone from ~15.5 millionth, to currently 3,069,720. That's in the space of about a month. The site is currently sitting on a a subdimain of musicforhorns.com and has minimal (testing only) content. The site has been designed in such a way that it's search engine friendly and content rich. Drupal has supporting SEO modules such as Page Title, Pathauto, Global Redirect, Nodewords and XML Sitemap. Not all of these are used (some of the more complicated ones have been removed for the client's ease of use), but together they create a formidable SEO comobination.

affordableaussiesoaps.com has been put on hold at the owner's request, but it has been about 25% completed. I have to keep pulling myself back in line as I find that with additional features, I'm straying from the original user-centric design.

The Christies Beach Surf Lifesaving Club website has also been put on temporary hold. Discussions are being held on content etc. This suits me fine as my wife and I are currently in the middle of moving house. It's an unfortunate time to have to move, considering I'm right at the serious end of the year with regards uni, but it can't be helped.

I've also deided to make a Wiki for the Nissan C34 Stagea (and possibly the NM35 stagea as well), in combination with the Stagea section of the Skylines Australia Forum. That's a far off project yet though, as I have to finish all others first. I'm thinking of creating this one with CakePHP, instead of Drupal as I realised that I don't have anything live, that isn't made with an already existing CMS (I've got to write some code some time :P).

On top of that, I'm going to try and start developing fo the Drupal community. I've gained so much from Drupal and its modules, it's time to start giving something back :)
